For remodelers: clean handoffs, both directions, no poaching

You open a wall and find water damage, we mitigate and hand it back. We finish drying a big rebuild, it can flow to you. Your client stays yours, in writing.

The moment this is for

Demo day found mold behind the tub surround. Your schedule just met a hazard.

Mid-remodel moisture discoveries put GCs in a bind: proceeding buries a known problem in your finished work, but stopping stalls the schedule and the draw. The clean play is a fast mitigation partner: we contain and dry (or remediate) with documentation that protects you from owning a pre-existing condition, then hand the project straight back, same week where physics allows. And when our mitigation jobs need finish work beyond our rebuild crew’s capacity or the client wants their own GC, that work flows out to partner remodelers. Both lanes, marked.

How it works

How we work with remodelers & GCs

1

Call from the site

Photos by text get you a same-day assessment; active water gets a crew. Your project manager stays the point of contact.

2

We mitigate, documented

Containment, drying or remediation, clearance verification, with records separating pre-existing damage from your scope of work.

3

Straight handoff back

You resume with a dry, cleared substrate and paper proving it. No client contact from us beyond the mitigation.

What you get

The working arrangement

  • A non-poach commitment in writing: your client stays yours
  • Priority scheduling on discovery calls, schedule stalls cost you real money
  • Documentation that firewalls pre-existing conditions from your workmanship
  • Clearance testing on mold discoveries, so your drywall crew isn’t sealing a liability
  • Rebuild referrals where our pipeline exceeds our own build-back capacity
What we never do

We never quote reconstruction on your project, the rebuild is yours, including the parts we exposed. We never contact your client except about the mitigation itself, and we never slow-walk a clearance to stretch equipment days on your schedule.

Reasons to work with us

What a Highwater partnership does for you

We make you look good

  • Discovered damage handled without your schedule slipping a week
  • Your client hears “good catch,” not “change-order fight”
  • Verified-dry substrate before you close walls, in writing

We make your job easier

  • One call when demo finds rot, mold, or a live leak
  • We stabilize, document, and hand the rebuild straight back to you
  • Insurance paperwork for the discovery, ready for the client’s claim

Your clients come out ahead

  • Hidden damage becomes a documented claim, not a budget hole
  • Containment keeps dust and spores out of finished areas
  • The remodel restarts on a known-dry baseline
What makes us different

The way we work, in five words

Honest

If you don’t need us, we say so. No invented scope, ever.

Transparent

You see what we see: readings, photos, pricing, before work starts.

Great documentation

Meter logs, thermal images, Xactimate scopes. Files that stand up.

Quick, honest communication

Updates before you ask, bad news included, the same day.

Rapid response

Answered 24/7. On-site within 90 minutes across our service area.

Risk, removed

Accidents and risks this partnership prevents

Discovered damage is a schedule problem and a liability problem at once. Here is what stops being yours.

Closing walls over wet framing. Moisture verification before cover-up, so the mold call never comes.

A schedule blowout. Mitigation runs parallel to the claim, not ahead of your timeline.

Scope disputes with the homeowner. Third-party documentation separates discovery from workmanship.

Disturbing mold without containment. Licensed remediation keeps your crew and your license clear.

FAQ

Questions we hear

You have a reconstruction division. Aren’t we competitors?

On jobs that originate with us, sometimes. On jobs that originate with you, never, that’s the written commitment. In practice our rebuild crew stays busy on our own mitigation pipeline, and the overflow goes to partners.

Who pays for mid-remodel mitigation?

Usually the homeowner’s insurance when the damage is sudden/accidental or pre-existing-but-hidden, our documentation of cause is what separates it from your scope. We bill the responsible party directly, not through your contract.

How fast is a mold clearance, really?

Containment to clearance in 2–4 days for a typical single-area discovery. We schedule the clearance sample the moment treatment completes, we know your subs are sequenced behind it.

Will you take over my rebuild?

No. We mitigate and hand the rebuild back to you. Reconstruction is only ours on jobs that came to us without a GC.

What happens to my schedule during mitigation?

We work your sequence: contain the affected area so other trades keep moving, and dry to verification while the claim processes.

Can you help my client with the insurance side?

Yes. Discovery photos, cause documentation, and a scope in carrier format, so the surprise becomes a claim, not a change order.
