Biohazard and trauma scene cleanup in the Salt Lake Valley & Park City, Utah
If you are dealing with a death or a trauma scene, you should not have to manage the cleanup as well. Call us and we will take it from here.
Keep your phone nearby. If water is still spreading, shut off the main valve now, it’s usually in the basement or crawl space, on the street-facing wall.
What to do first
Leave the area alone
There is no need to touch anything. Blood and other fluids carry pathogens, and cleaning without protection puts you at risk.
Close off the room
Shut the door and keep children and pets out. If the HVAC serves that room, leave the system off until we have looked at it.
Call when you are ready
Nothing has to be decided today. We work around law enforcement and the coroner, and we do not begin until the scene has been released.
Not sure what happens next? Call (385) 354-5813 and we will talk it through at whatever pace you need.
What the cleanup includes
- Coordination with law enforcement or the coroner, and confirmation the scene has been released before we begin.
- Containment of the affected area so nothing spreads through the rest of the home.
- Removal and disinfection of blood, body fluids, and other biohazard material.
- Removal and replacement of flooring, subfloor, or drywall that fluids reached and can't be saved
- Regulated waste handling, tracked and disposed of to bloodborne pathogen standards
- Reconstruction under the same scope, one company to move-back-in
Surface by surface, room by room
The situations we are called to
Every call is different, but most fall into a handful of situations. We work across Salt Lake City and Park City, and we arrive without drawing attention.
Trauma & crime scene
Cleaning and decontamination after a violent death or serious injury.
Unattended death
Homes where someone passed alone and was found some time afterward.
Hoarding conditions
Homes that need sorting, clearing, and sanitizing before they are livable.
Chemical residue
Tear gas, fingerprint powder, and other residues left behind.
Blood & body fluids
Removal and disinfection of anything fluids have reached.
Lingering odor
Odor settles into subfloor and framing, so we treat the material itself.
A scene is more than what you can see
What is visible is usually the smallest part of it. Fluids reach flooring, framing, and belongings, so we scope all three together under one plan instead of cleaning only the surface.
Surfaces & structure
Hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. Flooring, subfloor, and drywall that cannot be saved are cut out and replaced.
Structural repair →Odor & residue
Odor lives in the material rather than the air, so it is treated at the source and not covered over.
Odor removal →Belongings
Some items can be cleaned and returned to you. Others cannot, and we will tell you plainly which is which.
Contents cleaning →The same careful process, every time
How the work is carried out
Arrival
We walk the scene and explain the plan.
Containment
The area is sealed so nothing spreads through the home.
Decontamination
Removal and disinfection, in full protective gear.
Cleared
Regulated waste removed, air treated, the room left clean.
What families have said
“Kitchen fire, whole-house smoke. They boarded up that night and the inventory they built made the contents claim painless.”
Denise
“The smell was in everything. Thermal fogging and the contents treatment actually got it out, we were braced to sell.”
Aaron
“Electrical fire while we were out of state. Board-up, daily updates, and rebuild, we never flew back early.”

Why families call us for this work
One company handles the whole scene, from the first walkthrough to the repairs, with the documentation your adjuster needs.
Unmarked vehicles
We come in unmarked vehicles and plain clothing. Neighbors do not need to know why we are there.
Cleanup through repair
Decontamination, contents, and reconstruction under one roof, one schedule, one point of contact.
Regulated disposal
Crews trained to bloodborne pathogen standards, with all regulated waste tracked and lawfully disposed of.
Odor treated at the source
Residue is removed first, then odor is treated in the material itself and checked before repairs begin.
Insurance often covers this work
Homeowner policies often cover trauma and biohazard cleanup, though the wording varies by carrier. We document the scene, scope the work in the format adjusters use, work with any carrier, and bill them directly, so on a covered claim your deductible is normally all you are asked for.
How your claim goes, step by step
Document before we start
Photographs and notes of the scene before anything is moved.
Room-by-room inventory
Every affected item logged for the contents side of the claim.
Scope in Xactimate
Structure, contents, and living expenses, in the format your adjuster uses.
Coordinate & bill direct
We answer the adjuster’s questions and bill your insurer for covered work.
You pay only your deductible
On a covered claim, that is your real out-of-pocket, and you know it up front.
Cleanup and decontamination after a death or injury in the home, replacement of materials that cannot be saved, and additional living expenses while you cannot stay there.
Some policies cap trauma cleanup at a set dollar amount, and a home that has been vacant can be treated differently. We check the wording early and document to protect the claim.
If it helps, we can read through your policy language with you, including the additional living expenses side.
Residential and commercial biohazard cleanup
Whether it is a family home in Sandy or a workplace in Salt Lake City, the same containment, decontamination, and documentation apply to both.
